Dr. Elaine Costello is a prominent educator and author who has been associated with the field of deafness for more than 25 years. She holds a Master of Science Degree in deaf education from the University of Kansas and earned her doctorate in instructional technology from Syracuse University. Dr. Costello has recently retired as the director and editor-in-chief of Gallaudet University Press at Gallaudet University in Washington, D.C., the world's only liberal arts college for the deaf, and is a prolific author of reference works for the deaf.
