In a clear and enjoyable manner, the author shepherds us through an epistle that is of utmost important to us as sons and daughters of the Reformation. The end result of this scholarly study is that we come to profoundly understand the book s central themes. In his analysis, Blank handles with ease not only the most noted interpretations from the past but also the most recent. He acknowledges and addresses important points from contemporary movements such as liberation theology and feminism, respecting their yearnings but maintaining a faithful, confessional attitude based on the Holy Scriptures. His knowledge of the rhetorical interpretation of the text is underlined here, as is his deep knowledge of the history of the Christian church.
