Moragne profiles nine YAs (ages 13 to 18) with mild to moderate dyslexia, including their first-person narratives, along with comments by their teachers, families, and friends. Honest words of frustration, encouragement, and acceptance illustrate how this learning disability can interfere with school, family, and social situations, and examples demonstrate how a dyslexic might "see" things, the process of diagnosis, and teaching techniques. The book does a stellar job of explaining the impact of living with mild to moderate dyslexia but does not address the problems of severe dyslexia or students who are not as "successful" as those interviewed here. The author's choice of vocabulary and her syntax and organization are appropriate for readers who have dyslexia, and the book will also be an excellent resource for a newly diagnosed student to read with a teacher or parents. Four worthwhile national support organizations are listed, but their toll-free numbers and Web site addresses are not provided. The glossary and index are excellent, but the bibliography is limited and dated. Karen Simonetti
