Explains how to use a personal computer to complete activities that explore various aspects of Halloween

Gr 2-5-Kids love Halloween and they love computers, so this book will be a surefire hit. Requiring only a word processor and a paint program, the activities won't stun children with their originality, but they should be easy to replicate on any computer. The projects include decorations, masks and costumes, ideas for creating a haunted house, and party invitations and place cards. One of the most intriguing designs shows how to draw a bat using two ovals and seven circles. Trumbauer adds meat to the book by including interesting tidbits of background information on the various Halloween symbols and customs. A "cool idea" section takes each craft a step further. The pure child appeal will have this book flying off the shelf.-Yapha Nussbaum Mason, Brentwood Lower School, Los Angeles
