Reviews

Gr 6 Up-This revised introduction (Millbrook, 1996) to using the Internet for school projects begins with descriptions of discussion groups, mailing lists, e-mail, and the World Wide Web. It covers cybersafety, how to search for information, tips for doing research papers and evaluating the information found. It describes collaborative projects that involve students from around the world and explains how readers may publish on the Internet. The book is chock-full of Web sites for readers to access. Clips of Internet pages provide visual examples for the textual information. Sidebar information in white print against black backgrounds is striking. An appendix of search engines adds value to the text.
