Grade 4-6?These series entries present information on each country's cultures, values, and customs, as well as background on geography and history. An emphasis is placed on the arts, sports, and leisure activities. Also included are descriptions of how holidays and festivals are celebrated, with clear explanations of the food and costume traditional to each event. The discussions of the spirit and characteristics of the people, based on their cultural and religious beliefs, are especially interesting. Attractive, colorful photographs add to the text, and the glossaries are extensive. Not as comprehensive as the "Enchantment of the World" (Childrens) or the "Then and Now" series (Lerner), these books are solid additional purchases where more cultural information on these nations is needed.?Marion F.
