Unauthorized and unabridged, Quake Strategy Guide Unauthorized will take you through id Software's Quake blow-by-blow until the fat demon sings and the game is over. Although devoid of illustrations (except for the maps), the guide provides handy information about the world of Quake. Each level of the game is dissected and served up for your speedy conquest, complete with strategy tips for offing all the creatures and finding all the secrets (including some particularly secret secrets). The maps are good and easy to follow. The only drawback here is an anemic three-page section on deathmatch tactics.
