Outlaws is a wildly entertaining first-person shooter that trades in the grimy futurism of its contemporaries for the leather and tumbleweed of a spaghetti Western. This official guide, compiled with help from the Lucasarts Outlaws designers, is extremely robust in regards to the single-player game. Outlaws--Official Strategy Guide includes maps of all the levels, hints on surviving even the hairiest of encounters, and secrets that might remain hidden to even the most astute gamer. If you're looking for help or clues on the main game or the historical missions, this is the volume for you.

The book is light when it comes to Outlaws's multiplayer capabilities. However, this skimpiness is understandable since players end up developing most online game hints and strategies after a game is released. The book's detailed descriptions of the multiplayer maps will help new players to a certain degree; however, players will have to do most of their learning the hard way. Despite this small oversight, Outlaws is an excellent strategy guide and offers unique insight into the creative processes that spurred the game.
