This book is a review of extraordinary new hypotheses that might reasonably be characterized as 'dissenting science.' It spotlights the principal scientists-world-class thinkers all-who have proposed these theories, and the difficulties they encountered in their conclusions' challenges to existing paradigms. By laying out these theories in terms that any intelligent reader can understand, they become accessible to the non-specialist who is then able to evaluate them on their merits.

Something wrong with today's science. There are signs of trouble. The ideal of free enquiry seems to be losing its vitality. New discoveries and reasonable theories are being withheld or rejected without a hearing. New ideas which can have profound importance for the further advancement, the health, and progress of mankind are being ignored. There are attempts to put over half-truths and outright fabrications for political or ideological reasons, which could do even more damage than the truth withheld. I will begin by stating for the record that I hope I'm wrong. But there are too many trends and signs. These indicators should warn us that the methods and very state of mind which make the modern age of science possible are in jeopardy and unless corrective action is taken, science may at the very least be damaged or impaired, or at worst, be caused to stagnate and decline.
It is true that new scientific theories have always had difficulties in supplanting older existing models or paradigms. Historically also, there have always been periods of flowering of the arts and sciences followed by periods of decline or stagnation. Are we perhaps simply at the juncture of one of those periods? There are indications that we are. There are symptoms of a change for the worse.
There will always be inovative men and women of creative genius. But can they succede in today's climate? This book examines that question, along with some of the science that is being suppressed.
