In Copying It Down, Harvey Dorfman recounts his experiences in the world of sports. From his childhood sickbed, Dorfman went on to achieve a myriad of successes, including goalie on a national co-champion soccer team and coach of a high school basketball team that won a state championship, and is a possessor of four World Series Rings (three with Oakland; and one with Florida). He eventually attained a status of world renown in the field of sport psychology. Here, in the second of three volumes, Dorfman shares anecdotes that include the fourteen years spent in the dugouts of three major league teams. The book concludes in 1998, when his professional associations with major league baseball organizations ended.

Harvey Dorfman has worked in education and psychology as a teacher, counselor, coach, and consultant. Dorfman was also a freelance journalist whose work appeared in The New York Times, Boston Globe, Miami Herald, and Los Angeles Times, among others. There isn't a day that goes by that I don't use some word of Harvey-wisdom, whether it's on the baseball field or in my personal life. (Fredi Gonzalez, manager, Florida Marlins)
His clients...athletes you watch and cheer for every day ―- Halladay, Maddux, Ibanez, to name just a few ―- say that Dorfman made them who they are today. They say that this man saved them. (Men's Journal)
Harvey was, and still is, a remarkable person. His first teaching assignment was at our school. He captivated his students. Today, our once new pedagogue is a famous counselor, author, and baseball authority. Sports and schools need more Harvey Dorfmans. His impact endures. (Bob Dever, principal, retired, Wheeler Avenue School, Valley Stream, NY)
The game's top players, managers, and executives all want Harvey Dorfman in their dugouts. (GQ)
