About the Author

Peter Stekel began walking at an early age and plans to continue walking right up until the moment he stops moving. He prefers backpacking because there is nothing like ten days in the wilderness to make you humble and appreciative of the powers of simplicity. He has hiked throughout the intermountain West, the West Coast, the Pacific Northwest, and has flown west with the night. He has hiked the AT in eastern US, over a few tracks in eastern Australia and a bunch of places in the north of England. Obviously, he always carries a compass.
Author of Final Flight: The Mystery of a WWII Plane Crash and the Frozen Airmen in the High Sierra and the mystery book, The Flower Lover, Peter Stekel has over 700 feature magazine and newspaper stories.
