Inhabitants of the Wide World, on the other side of the Wild Wood, have known for nearly a century the joys and trials (some of them of the courtroom variety!) of the residents of the River Bank. Loyal Mole, impetuous Mr. Toad, kind Rat, reclusive Badger, and the others make their way through the days "messing about" in or around the water. The adventures of these gentle, witty friends speak to readers of all ages, who are more than happy to read and re-read Kenneth Grahame's classic year after year.
For this stunning two-volume gift set, Inga Moore has carefully abridged and beautifully illustrated Grahame's original, dividing it into two complete books. Ideal as an introduction to younger readers, the annotated version loses very little substance and retains all the blissful spirit of the 1908 book.
