About the Author
Axel Scheffler was born in Hamburg, Germany. He didn’t think of a career in illustration until he won a stuffed purple cow in a drawing competition. He moved to England in 1982 to learn English and study illustration at the Bath Academy of Art. Axel Scheffler lives in London.

PreS-Gr 1-Pip and Posy are bundled up and ready to play in the snow. They have a wonderful time sledding and making snow angels until they clash over whether to build a snowmouse or a snowrabbit. They get so angry that they throw snow and push until both are cold and sad. "Then Posy did a very kind thing." She apologizes to her friend, and he does the same. Then they go inside to play. The story and illustrations are packed with warmth, humor, and sympathetic understanding of the little dramas of young children's lives.
