Discover the Wonder of Fall Through a Child's Eyes
Step into a world of swirling leaves, cool breezes, and cozy adventures. Fall by Núria Roca captures the essence of autumn in a beautifully illustrated picture book that invites children ages 4 to 7 to explore the season's magic with warmth and curiosity.
With lyrical, age-appropriate text and vibrant artwork, this gentle story follows children as they experience the natural changes that make fall special. From jumping into leaf piles to noticing the changing colors around them, young readers will connect with the simple joys of the season.
Perfect for read-aloud moments or early independent reading, Fall encourages observation, builds vocabulary, and inspires a deeper connection to the natural world. Its scenes reflect the rhythms of everyday childhood, making it both familiar and engaging.
Whether shared at home or in the classroom, this book offers more than just a story―it's an invitation to slow down, look closely, and appreciate the beauty in everyday changes. A timeless autumn read that sparks wonder and creates moments of connection with every turn of the page.

back cover
FallPreSchool-Grade 2 - While these titles have appealing artwork on every spread, the information presented is slight or simply misleading. In Spring, Roca states that some animals come from "their mother's belly and others are born from an egg"; even very young children are familiar with the concept of hatching. Readers are encouraged to search for chestnuts in Autumn and to look for almond trees blooming in Spring, but both of these activities surely depend on where one lives. The inclusion of Christmas and Easter in the seasonal discussions detracts from the natural focus of the books and may limit the audience. Fun projects and crafts are provided at the end of each book. A guide for parents that delves a bit more deeply into certain concepts is appended. Linda Glaser's "Celebrate the Seasons!" books (Millbrook), with their cut-paper collage illustrations and lyrical texts, are better choices. - Jody Kopple, Shady Hill School, Cambridge, MA
