Daniella K. Garran went to Connecticut College where she obtained a B.A. in History and Art History and to Tufts University where she earned an M.A. in Education and Museum Studies. Amazingly, she uses each and every one of these degrees on a daily basis as a middle school social studies teacher on Cape Cod.
As a student at Connecticut College, Daniella was a coxswain on the men's varsity crew team for four years. She competed in a number of prestigious regattas including Head of the Charles, New England Rowing Championships and the Dad Vail Regatta. She also coxed for the Baltimore Rowing Club and Riverside Boat Club, winning four gold medals at various national championships with these clubs.
Daniella has been on archaeological digs in Bulgaria and England where she excavated first and second century Roman ruins. At some point, she hopes to participate in another dig and perhaps get a degree in archaeology. In the mean time, she is enjoying traveling the world with her students.
Daniella has spent nearly every summer of her life at Cape Cod Sea Camps where she met her husband, Jeff, and currently serves as an assistant director. Not coincidentally, her next book is entitled "Celebrating Summer Camp."
