Introduction Are You Ready to Become a HomeBuilder? By Dennis Rainey Their marriage was dead and buried. It had limped along for nearly thirty years, but they no longer communicated except to, in the wife's words, "growl at each other." Their hearts were cold and hard.

They divorced, and the woman moved across the country to start a new life. She began attending a church where she understood the gospel for the first time and made a faith commitment to Christ. Some friends invited her to attend a home Bible study and, on the first evening she was there, a HomeBuilders Couples Series( study was introduced.

"I was still so very angry over the way my marriage had ended, and with my life in general," the woman wrote, "but something was beginning to happen inside of me. For the first time in thirty years, I was able to understand what was missing from our marriage. We did not have personal relationships with Jesus Christ. The seed was planted that night, but I still fought against the idea of getting back with my former husband."
