Synopsis

THIS IS IT: the beginning of a new adventure, a new chapter in your life, a new opportunity to forge your identity in a fresh setting.

Your freshman year marks your first time for every high school experience: your first day, your first football game, your first pop quiz, and even some of your first major temptations. It's also a year filled with some really important questions: How can you make wise choices? How can you create good habits? How can you make faith a priority, not just another "thing" in your life?

Lars Rood is your guide for this adventure. He's a pastor, an author, a former high school teacher, and the dad of three children who aren't too far away from beginning their own high school journeys.

Each entry in this devotional will walk you through an important moment, issue, or opportunity that defines your freshman year, along with ideas on living out what you believe. In other words, this isn't just a book you read--it's a book that leads to action.

About the Author

Lars Rood is a long time youth pastor who loves building relationships with students and families and helping them engage their faith in new and deep ways. Lars is a popular speaker at youth conferences and has been blessed to write this series of books that seem to really connect with students. Lars went to school for a long time and ended up with degrees from Seattle Pacific University, Fuller Theological Seminary and George Fox Seminary. Lars has three kids. Soren (11th grade), Kaije (9th Grade) and Anneliese (6th grade). So the content of these books isn't theoretical. He's living it day to day as he loves and cares for his kids and encourages them to grow.
