Synopsis

For all the talk about HTML and Java, in most cases it's Adobe Photoshop that's behind every successful Web site. Because, when it comes to the all-important graphics that enliven and class-up the best Web sites, Photoshop is the most popular application for creating GIFs, JPEGs, and even the PICTs that go into Shockwave movies.

So, it's not surprising that the latest version of everyone's favorite image-editing and paint program, Photoshop 4, is selling like hotcakes (darn expensive hotcakes, admittedly) and has Web designers and developers all abuzz.

Now, Creating Cool Photoshop 4 Web Graphics is here not only to introduce you to the latest Photoshop incarnation but also to show you how apply its wide array of capabilities for the betterment of every Web page or site you create. With award winning author David D. Busch as your guide, you'll quickly discover how to... Retouch, enhance, and modify photos and other art Create three-dimensional images Make clickable image maps Apply filters for special effects (including Kai's Power Tools and Adobe's Gallery Effects) Reduce the time it takes to load graphics in a Web page without sacrificing the quality of images Produce transparent GIFs and interlaced GIFs and JPEGs.

Plus, Creating Cool Photoshop 4 Web Graphics comes with a bonus cross-platform CD-ROM containing everything from HTML templates and royalty-free graphics to Photoshop files that you can experiment with and adapt for your own use.
