Meticulously researched by an experienced husband-and-wife team, this in-depth guide is much more detailed and comprehensive than its major competitors. Let Frommer's take you to all the highlights of this gorgeous corner of the American West: the world-class ski slopes at Vail and Aspen, the majestic peaks of the Rockies, the haunting ruins of Anasazi cliff dwellings, old-fashioned steam-train trips, film and music festivals, guest ranches, ghost towns, and more.

Our authors have personally inspected all the accommodations they recommend, and they've selected choices for every taste and budget. They've put all the information at your fingertips so you can enjoy the great outdoors: spectacular drives, easy day hikes, wildflowers in bloom, scenic campsites, mountain-biking trails, and river rafting. There's a wealth of detail that takes the hassle out of trip planning. You'll even get a free color fold-out map!

About the Author:
About the Authors Residents of northern New Mexico since 1970, Don and Barbara Laine have traveled extensively throughout the Rocky Mountains and the Southwest, spending as much time as possible in the outdoors, and especially the region's national parks and monuments. In addition to this book they have authored or contributed to a number of other travel guides, including Frommer's Denver, Boulder & Colorado Springs, Frommer's Utah, Frommer's Rocky Mountain National Park, Frommer's Zion & Bryce Canyon National Parks, and Frommer's National Parks of the American West. Eric Peterson is a Denver-based freelance writer who has contributed to numerous travel publications, including Frommer's National Parks of the American West. He also writes for several Colorado-based business and entertainment periodicals, makes a mean chicken chili, and takes as many weekend treks into the Rockies as possible.
