Three lives. Two worlds. One chance to save them all.
As a parapsychologist working for Seattle Psi, Tess has devoted her life to studying psychic phenomena. But when doppelgangers begin appearing from a parallel world that's been struck by an asteroid, nothing in her training will help her survive what's to come.
After dislocating to Seattle Psi from the other Earth, Jake is confined by a special task force for study. But when he drains life energy from Tess, almost killing her, it causes a ripple effect across two worlds - and creates a bond neither of them expected.
Ross is an FBI agent ordered to protect Tess while she studies Jake. His assignment is not random - he and Tess have a history, and a connection the Bureau hopes to use to its own advantage. By the time Ross realizes his mission could be compromised, it's already too late - he'll have to choose between his love for Tess and his duty to protect the people of his own Earth.

AUTHOR Q&A
1) What gave you the idea for the book?
I had a sort of visual of a man confined in a cell in an old building. I knew he was dangerous somehow, most likely in a paranormal way, and also very sad about something in his past. As the idea began to take shape, the man (Jake) became an energy vampire. The cell was in a hundred-year-old building in south Seattle that had been designated a psi research institute (a real building I noticed every time I drove east on I-90). And the heroine took the form of a psi researcher tasked with studying Jake. I knew Jake would fall in love with her, but so would the FBI agent sent to essentially act as her handler.
2) Name one thing the heroine loves about the hero, and vice versa.
Ross, the FBI agent sent to protect and manage Tess, loves her because she has "a heart the size of Jupiter." She can't help helping people, even at grave risk to herself. Tess falls for Ross because he makes her feel safe, and because he tries so hard to do the right thing (which sometimes means defying orders).

3) Is there a story about why you chose the setting and/or time period? My other two books were more hard-core science fiction romance, one set on an Earth-like planet and one set in a dystopia brought about by genetic modification of humans. With ECHO 8 I wanted a setting that would feel more familiar to readers, so I set it in the very near future, in Seattle. With that said there is an asteroid-damaged parallel version of Earth. And theories about the energy vampires that have to do with quantum mechanics. So it's still very much sci-fi romance, with a heaping helping of paranormal and suspense.

About the Author:

A Romance Writers of America RITA Award finalist and a three-time Romance Writers of America Golden Heart Award finalist, Sharon Lynn Fisher writes stories for the geeky at heart―meaty mash-ups of sci-fi, suspense, and romance, with no apology for the latter. She lives where it rains nine months of the year. And she has a strange obsession with gingers (down to her freaky orange cat). Her works include Ghost Planet (2012), The Ophelia Prophecy (2014), and Echo 8 (2015).
