About the Author

Norman Frumkin, an economics writer in Washington D.C., has a longstanding interest in macroeconomic analysis, forecasting, and policies, and in improving the quality of economic statistics. He has worked in the U.S. government, in industry, as an independent consultant, and has taught courses on understanding and using economic indicators. He is also the author of Tracking America's Economy, 4th ed. (M.E. Sharpe, 2004) and Guide to Economic Indicators, 4th ed. (M.E. Sharpe, 2006).
