Dr. Barbara A. Nilsen is a professor of early childhood and elementary education and the recipient of the New York State Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Teaching, 1999. She is national chair of ACCESS/NAEYC Program Approval System for Associate Degree Early Childhood Programs and past president of the New York State Association for the Education of Young Children. Dr. Nilsen is a lecturer at educational conferences and a Head Start consultant.
