Baseball might be the national pastime and football the national passion, but NASCAR is America's sport. And in NASCAR Nation, long-time FOX Sports analyst Chris Myers explains why.
Myers started as a NASCAR outsider, brought in by FOX to host their race coverage more than a decade ago. But his sincere interest in the sport and eagerness to learn its ways allowed him entrance into NASCAR's inner world, a world where things like patriotism and the American way still inform every decision. He learned that NASCAR is a sport where drivers and owners are proud of where they come from and of who they are. It is a sport that has been built up the same way as America, with everyone banding together to fight for success.
From those early days, Myers felt he was in on something special. In NASCAR Nation, Myers takes readers behind the scenes and into the close-knit NASCAR community he now calls home. He shows how the values of America -- hard work, dedication, and a drive to succeed -- have guided the sport since its founding, and will continue to guide it into the future.
