Synopsis

Interior Design Sourcebook is an annotated bibliography and directory to sources of information for interior design practitioners, educators, and students. It is one of the few current titles which closely examines the literature of interior architecture or design.

The annotated listings describe sources that can be used in all phases of a project, including programming or strategic planning, schematic design, design development, construction documentation, and contract administration. Fifteen chapters cover all aspects of interior design, including codes and standards, product sources, design theory and philosophy, an historical overview, planning and pre-design, furniture, finishes, and textiles.

Covered topics include building and interior systems; project types (for example, healthcare, hospitality, office, residential, retail); visual communication methods; and business and professional practice. Additional chapters cover: competititions, awards, and scholarships; magazines, publishers, and bookstores; professional and trade organizations, government agencies, and research centers; and national product expositions and conferences.

Other titles in the Design Reference Series include "Architecture Sourcebook" and "Landscape Architecture Sourcebook."
