Synopsis
This book is an evidence-based review of the practical challenges of dealing with patients receiving dialysis. The first section covers technical and procedural considerations such as choosing the appropriate membrane, vascular access, and choosing from among the various forms of dialysis. The second section covers clinical problems in the use of dialysis, such as hypertension, infection, and other complications in patients with end-stage renal disease. Five new chapters have been added to the Third Edition, reflecting the continued advances in the understanding of kidney failure and the therapeutic options available.
