The first Imperialism was something of sleeper hit among strategy buffs. The sequel, from SSI and developer Frog City, promises to be at least as successful as its predecessor. Though roughly similar to Civilization and other empire-building games, Imperialism II has a number of intricacies and idiosyncrasies all its own--which is why this Sybex guide is so helpful. The book walks you through every important aspect of the game, including industry, diplomacy, research, and war.
