These books were some of the first comics I wrote outside the EVENT titles with Joe Quesada. While the artwork is beautiful, I look back at these and see the learning curve I was dealing with at the time. The first 3-part story was something of a crime story where Deadpool is a hired killer. the last page of the last chapter was changed by marvel comics against my wishes because it had deadpool shooting the person right in the face at the end, so I think the story lost a bit of the impact, but its still a fun story about betrayal. The next few were a blast because we got to work around the anniversary issue 50, and gave Deadpool a side kick. after that we had the twin gals giving him a run for his money and then with my friend Buddy Scalera, we got to put the punisher against deadpool for the very first time. These books sold out in a week and go for a small fortune now, so I am very happy they are collected so no one has to spend that kind of cash for them. the list of talent working on this trade is amazing and should be appreciated.
