Synopsis
In years past, immigration into the United States was treated as a privilege, not a right to be granted automatically just by being able to make it to America's shoreline or borders. Today, however, the entire process of immigration has been drastically politicized by both major parties in Washington, D.C.; one party sees votes - the other, cheap labor. About the Author
Jon E. Dougherty is a former reporter and weekly columnist for WorldNetDaily, as well as the author of WorldNetDaily special report, "Election 2000: How the Military Vote Was Lost." Before joining with WorldNetDaily, Jon published and edited a daily web-based newspaper, USA Journal and worked as an associate producer and on-air personality for The Derry Brownfield Show, a top-rated talk radio. Throughout his remarkably varied career, Jon also spent 15 years as a paramedic, was a corpsman for the U.S. Naval Reserve and Marine Corps, and served as a flight medic for the Missouri Army National Guard.
