The Pacific War was the largest naval conflict in history. With color and black and white photographs of battleships, underground headquarters, eroded tanks and sunken bombers, this book tells its story ¾ from the Bataan Death March and Guadalcanal to General MacArthur's return to the Philippines through the vivid memories of surviving war veterans, including former generals and frontline combatants. Photographs by Richard Marin. Foreword by Stephen E. Ambrose. Afterwards by Sen. John McCain.
