About the Author:

E.M. Forster (1879 1970) was born in London and attended Cambridge University. Where Angels Fear to Tread (1905) and A Room With a View (1908) were published before he achieved his first major success with Howards End in 1910. During WWI he spent three years in Alexandria and made two trips to India. After returning to England, he wrote A Passage to India (1924), his last novel. He continued to write short stories and essays until his death in 1970.
