Perennial favorite Mason continues the success of The Rogue and the Hellion (2002) with this second installment in the Rogues of London series, highlighting, along the way, the expanding field of Egyptology that hallmarked the Victorian era. At times the dialogue feels a bit too modern, and one wishes that Phoebe and Ramsey's quarrel could be resolved sooner, yet this otherwise fast-paced, sexy read will please Mason's faithful readers and all fans of lively historicals and fiction with an Egyptian flavor.
