About the Author:
Steve Eckels, M.A. (1955- ) Received a Bachelor s Degree in guitar from Berklee College of Music, a Master s degree in guitar from New England Conservatory, and music education certification from Northland College in Ashland, Wisconsin. He has taught guitar at the University of Wisconsin-Superior, New Mexico State University, Las Cruces and is currently the guitar instructor at Flathead High School in Kalispell, Montana. He is the author of numerous guitar books for Mel Bay Publications and Alfred Publications, and has been a regular columnist for Fingerstyle Guitar Magazine . He has been a participant in Christopher Parkening s Classical Guitar Master Class at the University of Montana at Bozeman. He performs frequently for community events in Northwest Montana. He and his wife Barbara are the directors of Teaching Classroom Guitar summer workshops in Kalispell, Montana and Steve has recently been commissioned by the Music Educator s National Conference to write a book based on the workshops
