Richard moved to Boise, Idaho in 1991 where he met his wife Danette. While there, he attended Boise State University, played with the Boise Philharmonic Orchestra, taught string class in the Nampa School District and played bluegrass on the weekends. In 1996, he and his family moved to Nashville, where he landed a job playing fiddle and mandolin for platinum recording artist Aaron Tippon. He is currently a member of the Nashville Mandolin Ensemble and on tour with Warren Reprise recording artist Michael Peterson.
