A performer and recording artist, Martin Norgaard is on the faculties of Belmont University's School of Music and Vanderbilt University's Blair School of Music. A member of the acoustic bluegrass/swing/rock band Acoustic Room, which records for Major Records, he leads his own jazz groups in New York and Nashville and has performed with artists as diverse as Rich McCready, Buddy Spicher, and Matt King. After studying at the University of Copenhagen and the New England Conservatory, fiddler and keyboardist Martin Norgaard earned his baccalaureate and masters' degrees in jazz performance from William Patterson Colege in New Jersey and Queens College in New York, respectively. Martin's books, workshops, clinics, online resources, and historical performances inspire and motivate students, teachers, and audiences to discover their creative potential through jazz string improvisation.
