Grade 1-4–Intended for use in Spanish as a Second Language programs, this colorful offering goes way beyond being a simple picture dictionary. The clever use of Disney/Pixar characters and scenes to accompany the text is sure to captivate children. All of the well-loved characters are drafted for this bilingual effort–from the classic (Donald Duck) to the more contemporary (Sulley, from Monsters, Inc.). The dictionary is arranged by broad themes presented in a series of spreads. For example, the chapter on Vacations and Traveling has pages on traveling, the weather, seasons and months, on the farm, on the beach, etc. Careful attention is paid to the proper use of the definite article, rules of grammar, and proper pronunciation. Addenda includes helpful information on numbers, both prime and ordinals; telling time; colors; and shapes; as well as substantial word lists–both English to Spanish and vice versa. This well-imagineered resource is perfect for home or classroom settings.
