He has won a Tony Award and has received the Hull Wariner Award for playwriting three times. Born in Iowa, he received a BA from Loras College and an MA from the Graduate School of Drama at Villanova University. He began his writing career as a journalist and has also written several screenplays. He lives in Connecticut.
A young girl is killed by a drunk driver. Her parents divorce and cope separately with the child's death. The driver, now free from prison, unknowingly awaits his final penance: being murdered at the hands of the child's father. All the violence and emotional pain of such tragedy are captured in this well-produced tape. Dick Hill personalizes each character and leaves a photographic image of events and settings in the mind of the listener. Sound and echo chambers are used effectively for flashbacks. Long after hearing the tape, which contains scenes and language not recommended for family entertainment, one will remember the people brought to life by Hill's superlative narration. J.P.
