Also included is a complete schedule of events for each sport, with trivia quizzes, glossaries of terms, and a profile of Atlanta, Georgia, the city which is host for the 1996 Summer Games. The guide is illustrated with action photographs from past competitions.

Reviews
These two volumes are geared toward television viewers as well as Olympic attendees. As a spectator's guide, the Companion offers more useful diagrams and better writing than The Olympic Factbook, even if the end result is a bit droll. Chapters on each competitive event are broken into seven categories-e.g., Stars To Watch; Background; Equipment; Rules-a blessing for those who don't follow the badminton or synchronized swimming circuits. The Olympic Factbook offers much of the same information but suffers from uneven writing at times. Regardless, the occasional trivia quiz and less structured entries make it entertaining to read. Additionally, the comprehensive events schedules-something the Companion lacks-make it a useful tool for spectators. Together, these titles should fill the needs of most collections.
