Gr. 5^-8. Racing fans and kids who go crazy over cars will be the audience for this photo-essay on the world of Renault Formula 1 motor racing. Using the by now well-known DK format, the book takes readers into the world of Grand Prix racing, introducing the racing team and showing how it designs and engineers its cars (with a spread devoted to topics like circuits and fuel). The book also looks at the gear and driving techniques of the drivers and takes readers behind the scenes at a race. Other topics covered include safety and what happens to drivers once they give up racing. Certainly one of the best-looking books on automobile racing to come down the pike. Ilene Cooper

Every fan of Formula 1 racing, whether novice or seasoned, will learn more about the sport from this comprehensive, lavishly illustrated overview of the 1996 Renault team and technology. This copy is gift quality, in fine condition. Binding is sound and square. The picture board covers are sharp cornered, unmarked and unworn. Pages are unmarked and unworn. Not a remainder. On the copyright page is "First American edition" and full printing line with "1". The dust jacket, which is now protected by a removable mylar cover, is also in fine condition: whole, unmarked, unworn and bright. As with all Space Age Book purchases, I will ship this book in a moisture proof zip-loc bag, padded in bubble wrap, inside a sturdy box to assure it reaches its proud new owner in the same condition as my description.
