Subsequent spreads show all of the busy toys that she is not talking to ("No! Teddy is banging a drum"). At the end, youngsters find that Tilly is talking to her mother, who says "it's bathtime!" The final illustration is of the child playing in the tub while her mother holds up her towel-"Splish! Splash! Splosh!" Grandma Rabbitty's Visit is another opportunity for interactive book sharing, as two rabbit children and their mother spend the morning looking out the living-room window to see if the bus or the ice-cream truck or the fire engine might be bringing Grandma Rabbitty. The eagerly anticipated Grandma finally arrives on a motorbike with presents, of course. Smith's illustrations feature deeper hues than Dodds's, with heavy black outlines. Both books will make fine additions to library collections, and librarians performing toddler storytimes will want multiple copies.
