Joe Burns, Ph.D. is a professor at Southeastern Louisiana University where he teaches graduate and undergraduate classes in Web design and Internet-mediated communication. Joe is the Webmaster of HTML Goodies (htmlgoodies), a site devoted to teaching HTML and Web design that serves up close to seven million pages every month to almost a half-million individual readers. He is also an Internet consultant for Internet. Joe first became interested in the Internet while studying for his Ph.D. at Bowling Green State University. There he created HTML Goodies and first began teaching computer classes. Joe is currently working on the viability of delivering university-level classes over the Internet and the effect of teaching in a Web-based environment. Joe lives in Hammond, Louisiana, with his wife Tammy, and two cats, Chloe and Mardi.
Andree Growney is currently a software engineer at TERC, a nonprofit educational research and development company in Cambridge, Massachusetts, where she does Internet applications development. She has been working with computers for more than 20 years. A former programmer and systems analyst, she became infatuated with the Web early in its development. She was formerly the Webmaster at Susquehanna University in Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania, where she also taught client/server and other database-to-Web¿related courses.
