Synopsis

Matteo Carcassi - 25 Melodic and Progressive Studies, Op. 60 is one of the celebrated Italian composer's most respected collections for classical guitar, presented with online audio and edited by Paul Henry. This edition brings together all 25 studies in standard guitar notation with professionally performed audio demonstrations, making it a valuable reference for guitarists exploring Carcassi's enduring musical and technical repertoire.

The collection includes introductory text, a thematic index, and approximately 49 minutes of online audio featuring performances of every study. Accessed through the unique code included with the book, the PLAYBACK+ audio player allows users to slow playback without changing pitch, create loops for focused listening, adjust keys, and pan audio left or right for a more flexible practice experience.

Carcassi's Op. 60 remains an enduring part of the classical guitar repertoire because it combines expressive musical writing with carefully crafted studies that continue to be widely appreciated by performers and teachers. Hearing each piece performed alongside the printed notation provides valuable musical context while supporting interpretation, phrasing, rhythm, and tone.
