The Great Commission is to make disciples. Renowned church planter and pastor Ralph Moore shows leaders why a focus on making disciples is the essential next step once a church is planted. This biblical, practical handbook will guide churches of any size to focus their ministries around Jesus's command to his followers to make disciples of all nations. Making Disciples offers a model of church ministry that sees every member as a minister, and it will become an indispensable resource for equipping a new generation of disciple-makers.

Ralph Moore is the senior pastor of Hope Chapel Kaneohe Bay in Hawaii and the founder of Hope Chapel in Hermosa Beach, California. His ministry now spans more than 700 churches on six continents. Pastor Moore travels extensively, teaching pastors and church leaders biblical models for spreading the gospel and building Christ's kingdom. He and his wife, Ruby, have two adult children who are also involved in church multiplication.
Ralph writes as a pastor who has a global vision. His church has planted 70 churches, and he is the catalyst for a movement of around 700 churches on every continent. For Ralph, making disciples is about who you are and what you do, and this book is filled with stories and cases studies from Ralph’s own experience. The most important lesson I learned was that we can do this, and we can start right now.

Author of What Jesus Started: Joining the Movement, Changing the World
The Western Church needs a radical intervention to reverse its current trend of decline. Ralph Moore is a modern-day prophet whose direct and, at times, abrasive style will work like sandpaper to peel back the layers that prevent the Church from fulfilling its mission. He calls us out in a righteous way, back to discipleship, and I applaud him for it.
Glenn Burris, Jr.
President of The Foursquare Church
The fruit of an emphasis on intentional disciplemaking—a movement of 700 congregations since 1971—speaks for itself and uniquely qualifies Ralph Moore to write on this topic. Designed for ordinary believers, this practical and inspiring book describes principles that, if implemented, will result in new followers of Jesus and healthy, multiplying churches. It is a challenging read that will help all understand that making converts isn’t the same as making disciples.

Ralph knows that disciplemaking is core to church planting and God’s mission, and he has the practical know-how to share this truth through compelling stories that illustrate how disciplemaking happens. His stories are filled with truth from the Bible, led by the Spirit, and focus on the essential ingredient of disciplemaking: building relationships. I urge you to read this book, drink deeply from Ralph’s wisdom, and begin reproducing disciples to fulfill the Lord’s vision for your life!

Ralph Moore is a leader who doesn’t set his smartphone navigator on the revivals of the past but looks at the decidedly non-sexy craft of discipleship. Doing the journeyman work of a gospel preacher, Ralph does the right thing in focusing on this most important insight: the individuals we are discipling are more than worth the trouble, regardless of the outcome or results. Do not miss this book. Keep the main thing the main thing!
David Housholder
Author of The Blackberry Bush, Pastor of Robinwood Church, Huntington Beach, California
Ralph’s uncanny ability to see potential in an ordinary person like myself and others is a gift from the Lord, but it also comes from his intentional approach to look beyond what others see and to probe where others might not care to explore. Making Disciples takes the mystery and program out of the process and puts it back into the hands of us all. It’s a simple title for a simple process. That’s how you leave a legacy like Ralph Moore.
Mike Kai
Pastor of Hope Chapel West Oahu, Hawaii, Author of The Pound for Pound Principle
In Making Disciples, Ralph shares great stories and gives fresh inspiration and insight for building disciplemaking churches that reproduce and change people’s lives. He believes every healthy church reproduces more churches, every passionate leader reproduces more leaders, and every fully devoted disciple of Jesus makes more disciples—and tells how we can all do that. Great job, Ralph!

Simple. Biblical. Practical. Ralph Moore’s books are some of the finest discipleship, leadership and church-planting tools available today. Like all great writers, Ralph’s life tells the same story as his books. If you want to be equipped and inspired to be a disciple and make disciples, Making Disciples is for you!

Making disciples is everybody’s business. Ralph Moore’s genius for realness and simplicity makes me want to go and make disciples right now—in fact, more than ever before. Everybody should do it. Everybody can do it. And, in this book, Ralph Moore strips away the fluff, drills down to stuff and teaches us how to do it. Read it, and you’ll want to get to it! Buy a bunch and spread the word!

I love making disciples in Japan, so I was so excited to read Ralph Moore’s book on discipleship in the local church. Pastor Ralph is not only a great pastor but also a great developer of pastors and church planters. He is the real deal! This book will motivate you and give you practical how-to’s in making disciples.
Rod Plummer
Pastor of Jesus Lifehouse International Churches in Japan
Based on the amazing work Ralph has done in seeing countless people begin to believe in Jesus, and then launching scads of new churches, he is on my short list of living heroes. Ralph just might be the most capable voice you’ll connect with in this life regarding the development and care of disciples. As I read this book, only one regret occurred to me: Making Disciples should have been written a few decades ago when I first started to follow Jesus!
Steve Sjogren
Church Planter and Author of Conspiracy of Kindness
Ralph is the real deal. He walks the talk, lives the life and is a passionate discipler who believes that discipleship is the only way. It is Plan A, and there is no Plan B. This is the true and urgent need for the hour. We need an army of disciples and disciplers, and Ralph knows this business.
