This book monographs the family Cotingidae, some of the most spectacular birds of the American tropics - the 65 species of the bellbirds, umbrellabirds and related species. This family evolved in South America when it was an island continent isolated from all other land masses. This resulted in a diverse assemblage of species of some of the most brilliantly plumaged of all birds. This volume is co-published by The British Museum (Natural History) and Cornell University Press. No ownership marks and no signs of use.
