Review

"The editors of Studies in Eighteenth-Century Culture, volume 35, have assembled an impressive interdisciplinary collection. Each of the essays is theoretically sophisticated and convincingly presented. Together they evidence the creativity and vitality that define modern eighteenth-century studies."

(Christopher Johnson ECCB: The Eighteenth-Century Current Bibliography)

"The editors of SECC 38 have done a laudable job of selecting challenging, thoughtful essays. The volume has been carefully edited and is beautifully produced with an abundance of useful illustration."

(Christopher Johnson Eighteenth Century: Current Bibliography)
