The author is a Swiss born philosopher who was associated with universities in Bern Switzerland, Heidelberg Germany, London England, Eugene Oregon and Norman, Oklahoma in the years 1917 to 1967. The first 143 pages give the TITLE, thoughts spelled out in personal letters to Kathleen (??) as he travelled on the freighter Westland between Houston and Genoa. Part II looks very biographical and Part III - very philosophical. Noteable in this latter is his philosophic exposition on German National Socialism written circa 1935. LEARN more about : George Rebec, antinomies, Jakob Burckhardt, kaka-tria, Nietzsche, polis, presupposition, Socratic paradox, and Cogito Ergo Sum. No illustrations. Cond : Boards are greeny-blue with gilt lettering on spine only. Publisher's collophon debossed into cover. Dust jacket is light green and white with black lettering. No graphics.
