One of the world's most recognized and beloved spiritual leaders even after her death, Mother Teresa of Calcutta, winner of the Nobel Prize for Peace, continues to inspire millions with her extraordinary example of compassionate and selfless work for the poor, the ill, and the outcast. This definitive volume features Mother Teresa's teachings on love, prayer, giving, service, poverty, forgiveness, Jesus, and more. It ends with a revealing conversation with her about the specific challenges and joys that were present in her work with the poor and dying. This is a passionate testament to her deep hope and abiding faith in God and the world. Through her own words, "No Greater Love" celebrates the life and work of one of the greatest humanitarians who ever lived.

If No Greater Love doesn't soften your heart, nothing will. Rather than proselytizing, Mother Teresa gives simple encouragement to love and give and sacrifice. The anecdotes she tells--of the woman who calls her crippled son "Teacher of Love," or the child who prefers to live with her mother under a tree to living in the relative comfort of Mother Teresa's home--evoke a bittersweet tenderness in the reader, a feeling that Mother Teresa is correct in saying that we must conquer the world not with bombs but with love.
Mother Teresa became known to the world for her selfless work with the poorest of the poor” in Calcutta, India. Born in 1910 in Skopje, now the capital of Macedonia, Mother Teresa began her novitiate in India in 1928. Since its inception in 1950, her order, the Missionaries of Charity, and its 400,000 sisters have opened more than 500 centers around the world to help the dying and destitute. Mother Teresa was the recipient of many of the world’s most prestigious humanitarian awards, including the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the Albert Schweitzer International Prize, and the Nobel Peace Prize. She died in 1997 and was canonized as a saint by Pope Francis in 2016.
