About the Author

Robert Wuthnow is the Gerhard R. Andlinger Professor of Social Sciences and director of the Center for the Study of American Religion, Princeton University. His numerous books include The Restructuring of American Religion, Rediscovering the Sacred, and Christianity in the 21st Century.

Here, at last, is a series of essays documenting the effects of the small group within the larger denomination. The essays cover everything from Bible studies to single charismatics to campus ministries in a variety of denominational settings. An appendix details the national profile of small groups in churches and acknowledges that those in small groups feel cared for, supported, and encouraged in their faith.
