About the Author

Dorothy Friesen grew up in Winnepeg, Canada, and later moved to Indiana to pursue a master's degree in Peace Studies. She has lived and worked in Southeast Asia and is the author of a nonfiction book, Critical Choices: A Journey with the Filipino People, and numerous articles on human rights and development. Her hobbies include canoeing, feeding birds, matchmaking, and encouraging young lovers. She lives in the North Woods of Minnesota in the spring and summer and in Chicago with her husband in the winter.
