Roni Denholtz has been making up stories with happy endings since she was very young. Eventually she started writing them down, and her stories and articles have been published in magazines such as Modern Romances, True Love, Baby Talk, Complete Woman, and For the Bride. Roni lives in northwestern New Jersey with her family, including a big dog and a goldfish. When not writing or spending time with them, Roni also enjoys reading, photography, cooking, listening to music, volunteering (for her local animal shelter and for New Jersey Romance Writers) and collecting old girls' series books. Salsa with Me is her fifth novel. Marquis in a Minute was awarded the 2007 Golden Leaf Award from New Jersey Romance Writers for Best Regency Romance.
In Denholtz's latest slow-burning romance (after Marquis in a Minute), children's librarian and assistant dance instructor Marisol Acevedo hopes to snap up her hot, successful Latino dance partner. After meeting Dr. Alejandro Alex Lares in a Dover, N.J., emergency room (for her Grandma Margarita Soto's dance-related injury), Marisol is surprised to see him turn up in her class. While teaching him how to salsa in time for his cousin Pablo's upcoming wedding, it doesn't take long for Marisol to fall head over heels. Still stinging over his failed romance with Juanita, a coldhearted nurse, Alex hides his feelings. Unfortunately, their quaint courtship is largely passion free, and the tumultuous relationships of their fellow salsa classmates are far more intriguing. Suitable for YA readers and conservative romance fans, this sleepy romance never manages to catch the rhythm, much less the spirit and spice, of salsa. (Oct.)

When Marisol Acevedo meets Dr. Alejandro Lares, sparks fly immediately—even as he is tending to her grandmother’s injured ankle. Their desire grows as Alex takes salsa lessons for his cousin’s wedding at the dance studio where Marisol is a teacher. But Alex, still damaged by a cold, cheating ex-fiancée, is reluctant to let their relationship progress, despite their attraction and their families’ approval. His commitment fears are compounded by his cousin’s troubled relationship with his own fiancée and desire for another woman. It takes an unlikely series of events—and new couplings all around him—to convince Alex that Marisol is a woman he can love and trust. Denholtz’s romance is about the repercussions of true love trumping rationality. Though things work out just a little too perfectly, true romantics will be swept up by the intriguing story and passionate characters. --Aleksandra Walker
