The purpose of this volume is to make available in print and in one place some of the thinking in the field known variously as social perception, interpersonal perception, or person perception.It is the outcome of the Harvard-Office of Naval Research Symposium on Person Perception held at Harvard University March 17-19, 1957. It gathers the thought of twenty-six psychologists, sociologists, and anthropologists who are particularly familiar with this area of behavioral science.
